Where is Brazil

The country is situated in the east-central part of South America, bordering the Atlantic Ocean in east and north east. Brazil occupies an area of 8,514,877 km² (3,287,597 sq mi), making it the fifth largest country in the world and also the largest country in South America and in the Southern Hemisphere.
- Major rivers are the Amazon and its tributaries Rio Negro, Rio Japurá, Rio Purus, Rio Madeira, Rio Xingu, Rio Araguaia and Tocantins river and the São Francisco River.
- Highest point in Brazil is Pico da Neblina at 2,994 m (9,823 ft.), the mountain is located in the Serra da Neblina on the Brazil-Venezuelan border.

Recife
